Hello and Welcome.
I’m Sylvie and would like to thank you for taking the time to find out more about me. I’m a Hypnotherapist and student counsellor who is very passionate about helping to empower my clients solve their problems so that they are able to live their best life. These problems are usually ones that no matter how hard we try, we cannot change the outcomes or always revert back to the same ways of being such as in bad habits.
I enjoy delving into the subconscious mind and am fascinated in how it drives us in our everyday lives. I have always been an analytical thinker however also intuitive and creative at the same time. I love investigating the mysteries of life. The human mind is the most intriguing mystery to me. I feel that today, people are becoming more self-aware and are focusing on improving their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. Through my own life experiences and personal development, I have discovered my soul’s purpose. This is to help my clients on their journey to reaching their full potential using the gentle medium of Hynotherapy. Our subconscious mind doesn’t like change so can block our efforts even when we try to make positive changes. The subconscious has it’s own language and a trained hypnotherapist will be able to communicate positive direct suggestions or metaphor-based therapy (depending on the clients preferred style).
My own Hypnotherapy experience (Smoking Cessation) – Staying true to my investigative nature, during my training, I volunteered for one of my fellow students to be a ‘case study’. I was a smoker. I smoked from the age of 15 to 23. I gave up for 20 years and then during a difficult period in my life I started at the age of 40 again! What a shame, anyway…….When I started training, I had been smoking for 5 years. My son wanted me to quit so badly, but no matter how hard I tried and told myself that I wouldn’t be here to see the grandchildren, I couldn’t stop. It was also putting a strain on my finances as well as my health. I know smokers reading this will resonate. I would cough every morning and I had no energy or motivation to do anything other than just get through the day. Smoking was a way of escaping and distracting myself from everyday thoughts/chores. It had become such a deeply ingrained habit. I was desperate to give up (essential to reach this stage before you decide to stop). Please note that I wasn’t going to ‘give up’ anything but I would be gaining my life back. Debbie my fellow student delivered the Hypnotherapy session (well-done Debbie, I owe you a great testimonial) and I never looked back. I am not saying that I didn’t crave a cigarette but the cravings remained more at the back of my mind and faded more quickly. The first three days were the hardest in finding alternatives to replace smoking. The screed was tailored to help combat danger times and triggers which made this 80% easier for me. I was now convinced of the power of positive and specific suggestions during Hypnosis. I am also now able to offer a Smoking Cessation session with first hand experience of it’s success whilst fully empathising with my client.
